Ink freight is decided by the exact formulation, documents, inner capacity, packing system, shipment size and destination—not by the word ink alone.

The decision

Start with the exact product, not a generic description. List each UV, eco-solvent, sublimation or other eligible ink and cleaning fluid separately, including model, use, package size and quantity. Water-based ink is outside the current service scope. The product name on the commercial documents should remain consistent with the technical file and actual cargo.

Provide the current SDS/MSDS and any transport identification or channel-review material already available. The operations team uses these documents to check transport attributes and submit the shipment to suitable carriers or specialist lanes. Missing or inconsistent information should be resolved before cargo is collected.

Execution details

Packing is a transport decision. Confirm the bottle or drum closure, inner sealing, absorbent material, secondary containment, orientation protection, carton strength and pallet method. The final outer package must tolerate vibration, stacking pressure and repeated handling without relying on a retail carton alone.

Choose the mode after the final packed volume, weight, piece count, destination and required delivery date are known. Express can suit samples and urgent small lots; air DDP can balance speed and cost for replenishment; ocean DDP normally becomes more practical for larger batches or mixed equipment-and-consumable orders.

Pre-shipment check

Before booking, define the customs and delivery boundary in writing. Confirm who provides product descriptions and values, who acts as importer where applicable, which charges are included, whether the address is residential or commercial, and how leakage, inspection, return or delivery exceptions will be handled.

OPERATING TAKEAWAY

Review the exact SKU and final packing before comparing rates. A route that accepts one ink formulation may not accept another product under the same commercial name.

  • Match every ink SKU to its current SDS/MSDS and available transport information
  • Confirm inner capacity, closure, absorbent protection, secondary containment and outer-carton strength
  • Compare express, air DDP and ocean DDP only after destination and total packed data are known
