International freight: frequently asked questions

Practical answers about cargo preparation, route selection, customs responsibility, FBA delivery and destination receiving conditions.

01

What do you need to quote oversized cargo shipping from China?

Send each supplier city, destination postcode, product names and materials, electrical or battery details, packed piece count, dimensions and weight per piece, total value, photos, target ship date and requested Incoterm. Complete packed data lets us compare LCL, 20GP, 40HQ and final-mile options accurately.

02

Can you ship LED screens and other powered oversized products?

They can be reviewed, but powered products do not use the public non-powered general-cargo rate reference. Provide the model, power supply and battery details, packing method, dimensions, weight, value, destination and available compliance documents for a separate route and price review.

03

Is FCL or LCL better for oversized or mixed cargo?

LCL can fit smaller trial orders, while FCL often becomes more practical as packed volume grows or when furniture, displays, equipment, doors, windows or other cargo is fragile, non-stackable or easier to control in a sealed container. Compare total landed cost and handling exposure, not ocean freight alone.

04

Can you consolidate different cargo from multiple South China suppliers?

Yes. We can coordinate pickups, receiving records, carton marks, packing data, reinforcement requests and loading sequence before building one export shipment. Suppliers still need to provide accurate product and compliance information.

05

Do you provide DDP or DAP shipping for oversized and general cargo to the United States?

DDP may be available after reviewing product attributes, materials, customs value, importer arrangement, duties or trade-remedy exposure, applicable compliance requirements and final delivery conditions. DAP or buyer-controlled clearance can be cleaner when the US buyer already has an importer of record and customs broker.

06

What US compliance information may be needed for different cargo types?

Requirements depend on the finished product, materials and intended use. Furniture may involve CPSC, labeling, wood or Lacey Act data; powered LED equipment may need electrical and battery documents; lighting, doors, windows and packaging materials can have their own product, material, marking or trade-remedy requirements. The importer and licensed broker should confirm the final rules for the actual goods.

07

Can oversized cargo be delivered to a US warehouse, store or job site?

Yes, after address and cargo review. Before dispatch we confirm receiving hours, appointment rules, dock availability, liftgate needs, limited-access or residential status, pallet or floor-loaded handling, and who is responsible for unloading.

08

What size limit should I plan for when shipping oversized cargo to the United States?

As a practical planning rule, keep the longest packed side of each piece at or below 3 meters (about 9.8 feet) whenever possible. Cargo over 3 meters is not automatically prohibited, but it often requires special handling, equipment or vehicles and can trigger multiple terminal and delivery surcharges. Before quoting, send the packed length, width, height, weight, stackability and photos for every oversized piece so the carrier and final-mile conditions can be checked.

09

How can damage risk be reduced for mixed or oversized cargo?

Match packaging to each product, protect corners, screens, glass and finished surfaces, control moisture where appropriate, confirm stackability, record package condition at receiving, and plan loading so heavy or irregular items do not crush lighter cargo. Insurance and clear packing records should also be discussed before shipment.

10

Did the EU introduce a new minimum declared value for low-value parcels in July 2026?

No. The change removes the former customs-duty relief for the relevant consignments valued up to €150 and introduces a temporary €3 customs duty calculated by tariff category. The declared intrinsic value should still reflect the genuine transaction and product data; the rule is not permission to use an arbitrary low value.

11

Is the EU's temporary €3 customs duty charged once per parcel?

Not necessarily. It is calculated by item category identified through the tariff subheading. Multiple identical units in one category attract one €3 amount, while goods in two different tariff categories can attract €6. The responsible customs representative should confirm the filing for the actual shipment.

12

What data should an e-commerce seller prepare before shipping low-value goods to Europe?

Prepare SKU-level product names, materials, intended use, quantity, unit and total value, origin and a tariff-code proposal, then confirm the destination country, IOSS or importer arrangement and the declaration operator. Product, invoice and customs data should describe the same goods consistently.
